About Arts, Culture and Entertainment at TU

Towson University’s Planetarium, College of Fine Arts and Communication, and Community Art and Dance Centers offer free and ticketed events and classes for all ages. These Arts, Culture and Entertainment (ACE) experiences are open to the public and showcase a variety of professional and student work. Here, the community and campus can connect, create, and explore.

DANCE! Celebrate

Share a dance with the whole family at DANCE! Celebrate. A whole day of free dance classes for all ages, only on June 14. Try sample classes and see a special performance from the Community Dance Center’s spring production, Carnival of Animals.

1930s Hollywood

See 1930s Hollywood up close at the Asian Arts Gallery from June 13–July 12. The exhibit by Joan Cox explores entertainment and how women were treated during the time period through many mediums.

Richard Rodgers & His Sounds of Music

On June 28, at 7 pm, listen to a tribute concert for Broadway composer and producer Richard Rodgers. Written, directed and starring Carolyn Black-Sotir and guest artists, tenor Min Jin, baritones Phillip Collister and Jason Widney, sopranos Lori Hultgren and Leah Inger, along with pianist Tim McReynolds, bassist Tom Baldwin, and drummer Frank Russo.

Planetarium

With an all-digital system that displays the night sky at any time, the Planetarium is a must-see on Towson University’s campus. Open to the public for free, every third Friday of the month during the school year, people can admire stars, galaxies, and even learn about the Big Bang from their seats.
